In connection with the development of the product suite ‘cerviSCAN’ for efficient cervical cancer screening, the Centre for Advanced Computing Development (C-DAC) inked a ToT agreement with Sertal Electronics Pvt. Ltd.

C-DAC has developed it and it has been verified in numerous facilities across the Country, screening over 10,000 women. The Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Alkesh Kumar Sharma, remarked during the event that the Government’s objective is to make India a global leader in Artificial Intelligence.

According to him, the Government is aiming to provide high-quality connection as well as low-cost mobile phones, laptop computers, and data to citizens across the country. According to the IT secretary, this will catapult the country to the next level of development.

In addition, the Secretary of Electronics and Information Technology demonstrated a portable tetra base station developed by the Department of Communication Technology and C-DAC. The European Telecommunication Standards Institute defines tetra communication as a standards-based secure, reliable, and efficient wireless communication system. This technology is meant to meet the communication demands of police and other public safety systems, as well as important services such as the Coast Guard, Border Protection, and Metro Railways. The CTN consists of around 25 distinct devices, including base stations, mobile terminals, dispatch units, voice loggers, and gateways for connecting to other communication systems with Sunitha Varma, State Industries Principal Secretary as the coordinator of the Electronics and Information Technology Group.
