As Covid-19 regulations are once again being tightened, UAE citizens travelling to India have been issued fresh instructions.New rules controlling passengers on flights from the UAE to India have been released by Air India Express.The recommendations include topics including immunisations and mask use for visitors from the UAE.
According to an Air India Express social media post:
All visitors should ideally be completely immunised in accordance with their country’s primary immunisation schedule that has been approved against Covid-19.
On flights and during travel, all visitors should preferably wear masks and adhere to physical segregation.
All visitors should keep track of their health after arriving and report any symptoms to the nearest medical institution or call the national helpline number (1075) or state helpline number.
The Union Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) of India has announced a regulation requiring 2% of all entering foreign passengers to submit to random Covid testing.
According to the government organisation, the random testing would be conducted on passengers who have been recognised by the airlines and should be from various nations. Passengers can only exit the airport after presenting samples.
Children under the age of 12 are exempt from post-arrival random testing, according to Air India Express. However, they must undergo testing and be treated according to protocol if they are discovered to be symptomatic for Covid-19 upon arrival or during the time of self-monitoring.
The action came after Covid-19 situation in the nation was discussed in a high-level meeting led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday.
Reiterating that the pandemic is still underway, Modi ordered officials to step up their current surveillance efforts, particularly at international airports.
