Elon Musk, an innovative and controversial figure, is the world’s richest person. For a long time, he has been attempting to revolutionise the world through his firms such as EV maker Tesla and rocket producer SpaceX. While Musk’s net worth is $189 billion, his company Tesla is currently valued at about $800 billion, and SpaceX at nearly $100 billion.
2. Bernard Arnault & Family ($167 Bn)
LVMH – France Chairman and CEO Bernard Arnault has a net worth is $167 billion. He leads more than 70 brands such as Louis Vuitton and Sephora. This French businessman earned a $100 billion fortune in December last year.
3. Gautam Adani and family ($127 Bn)
Gautam Adani, who runs the multinational conglomerate Adani Group that handles port operations and developments in India, is the richest person in Asia. His business is spread across categories such as energy, logistics, agriculture, and aerospace.
4. Jeff Bezos ($117 Bn)
Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos started his company in 1994 out of his garage in Seattle. Over time, it grew drastically, putting Bezos as the world’s fourth richest person. He maintained this position even after divorcing his wife MacKenzie to whom he transferred a quarter of his stake in Amazon.
5. Bill Gates ($117 Bn)
The founder of Microsoft and cofounder of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Bill Gates has a net worth of $117 billion. Bill Gates, who started Microsoft with Paul Allen, finally sold much of his stake in the company. He retained just 1% of the shares and invested the rest in stocks and other assets. Gates entered the $100 billion club last year when Microsoft’s share price rose post-earnings.
6. Warren Buffet ($110 BN)
One of the most popular investors, Warren Buffet runs Berkshire Hathaway which owns more than 60 companies. Some of them are Geico insurance, Duracell, and Dairy Queen Restaurant. His net worth is $110 billion.
7. Larry Ellison ($97 Bn)
Larry Ellison co-founded the software firm Oracle in 1977. Since 2014, he has been functioning as the chairman of the board and chief technology advisor of the company. Ellison also is part of the board of Tesla and owns nearly all of the Hawaiian island Lanai.
8. Mukesh Ambani ($94.8 Bn)
The founder and chairman of Reliance Industries has a net worth of $94.8 Bn. His business empire has a presence in petrochemicals, oil and gas, retail and telecom. Reliance has been a big player in India’s telecom market since the launch of its brand Jio.
9. Larry Page ($92.7 Bn)
