The toy industry in Tamil Nadu can generate 30,000 jobs. This can be achieved with the aid of the state government Chennai and Tuticorin with port connectivity are ideal destinations for the industry. It was observed by the Tamil Nadu Toy Dealers Association. Recently, the Telangana government allotted 1,000 acres of land for the toy industry. Similar support will help the toy industry thrive in Tamil Nadu. In the southern region, Chennai is the capital of the toy market. The toy industry in Tamil Nadu is valued at Rs 600 crore. It can grow further if the government provides land at subsidised rates. Following the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ campaign, the import of toys has been reduced in India. This leaves great scope for native toy makers.
