Mukesh Ambani has said about the leadership transition at his energy-to-retail conglomerate. He said he wants the process to be accelerated with seniors and the younger generation.

Transition time?

Ambani, 64, took over as chairman of RIL after his father’s death in 2002. His children, Akash, Isha and Anant, have been involved in RIL’s telecom, retail and energy businesses. While none is on the board of RIL, they are directors in the company’s key arms.

Organisational culture

Ambani said an organisational culture must be built at Reliance that outlasts its leaders. The move comes ahead of Sebi’s April 2022 deadline to split the chairman and managing director positions in listed companies. However, the company did not respond  to Ambani’s remarks about succession.
