Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited (APSEZ), India’s largest port operator, has announced plans to acquire Netherlands-based Evos B.V. for €2.56 billion.

Evos is Europe’s second-largest independent liquid storage company. The acquisition will help Adani Ports expand its business in Europe and strengthen its presence in the international energy storage sector.
According to the company’s announcement on Thursday, Adani Ports will purchase a 100% stake in Evos from Igneo Infrastructure Partners.
The deal will be completed entirely through cash payments. The total business value of Evos has been fixed at €2.56 billion, while its equity value is estimated at €1.18 billion.
Evos Is a Major Liquid Storage Company in Europe
Evos operates liquid storage facilities that support the movement and storage of energy products and other liquid materials.
These facilities play an important role in helping businesses store, manage and transport liquid products safely.
The company has a strong presence in Europe’s energy and industrial storage market.
During the calendar year 2025, Evos reported revenue of €392 million.
Its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) stood at €219 million, with an EBITDA margin of 56%.
These figures show that Evos operates a profitable business with strong earnings from its storage activities.
Adani Ports Plans to Expand Its Global Business
The acquisition is expected to help Adani Ports enter important liquid storage and energy markets in Europe.
Adani Ports already operates major ports and logistics facilities in India. Adding Evos to its business will allow the company to expand beyond traditional port operations.
The company also sees opportunities to support Europe’s shift towards cleaner and more sustainable energy.
Adani Ports Managing Director Karan Adani said the acquisition would give the company a stronger presence in major international liquid storage and energy centres.
He also said the company looks forward to working with European businesses and supporting the region’s energy transition.
Deal Awaits Regulatory Approval
Adani Ports said the acquisition will be financed through debt, meaning the company will borrow funds to complete the purchase.
However, the deal is not yet final.
It must receive regulatory approvals and complete other required procedures, including consultations with employee representative bodies.
Once completed, the acquisition will mark an important step in Adani Ports’ international expansion.
The company aims to strengthen its global operations, enter new markets and build a larger presence in the energy storage business.
The proposed purchase of Evos reflects Adani Ports’ plans to grow beyond India and become a stronger player in international ports, logistics and energy infrastructure.
