Ferrari’s first fully electric car, the Luce, has already secured orders covering its entire planned production for 2027, even before customer deliveries begin. CEO Benedetto Vigna announced the development while presenting the company’s third-quarter results on November 3, 2026.

Vigna said Ferrari was satisfied with the response to the electric model, adding that all the vehicles the company plans to sell next year have already been allocated to customers. The company has not disclosed its specific production or sales target for the Luce.
First customer deliveries are expected towards the end of 2026. Ferrari has also scheduled customer test drives for 2027, which Vigna believes could generate further demand.
Strong Demand Despite Design Criticism
The Luce attracted considerable attention when it was unveiled in May 2026, with its unconventional design drawing criticism from some observers. However, the initial response has not weakened customer demand, according to the CEO.
Vigna said Ferrari was not facing significant challenges in manufacturing or demand. He acknowledged that the vehicle was more complex to develop because it incorporates several new components and technologies.
Ferrari’s Electric Vehicle Strategy
The Luce marks Ferrari’s entry into the fully electric luxury sports car segment. The company is also developing additional electric models as part of its long-term electrification strategy.
Ferrari aims to have fully electric vehicles account for 20% of its product range by 2030. The company is pursuing electrification alongside its existing internal combustion and hybrid vehicle programmes.
The strong initial order book for the Luce signals customer interest in Ferrari’s electric direction, although the company has yet to reveal production volumes or detailed sales targets for the model.
