Tata Group-owned Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) and Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL) have signed a multi-hotel operating agreement for eight hotels with more than 2,000 rooms across Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow and Guwahati.
Under the agreement, Adani Airports will develop the properties, while IHCL will operate them through its hospitality brands, including Taj, Vivanta, Gateway and Ginger. The partnership aims to expand hospitality options for business, leisure and transit travellers at key aviation hubs.

The portfolio comprises three Taj hotels, two Vivanta properties, one Gateway hotel and two Ginger hotels. With these additions, IHCL’s portfolio will include 25 hotels across its brands at key airports in India.
Hotel projects across four cities
In Mumbai, a Taj hotel is being developed at Terminal 2 of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. Lucknow will have a Vivanta hotel and a Ginger property, while Ahmedabad will feature Taj and Vivanta hotels that are in advanced stages of construction. Guwahati will have three properties: a Taj, a Gateway and a Ginger hotel.
Together, the eight hotels will provide accommodation, dining, meeting and event facilities, wellness services and recreational amenities.
Adani’s Airport City expansion
The partnership is part of Adani Airports’ strategy to develop integrated Airport City destinations combining hospitality, retail, business and leisure infrastructure around aviation hubs.
Adani Airport Holdings has established Adani Airport City Limited to develop a land bank of more than 655 acres across six airports in five states, including nearly 440 acres in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai.
In the first phase, Adani Airport City plans to invest more than ₹20,000 crore to develop approximately 22 million square feet across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Jaipur and Guwahati.
The development comes as airport-linked commercial districts gain importance alongside rising passenger traffic, tourism and business travel. The partnership is expected to strengthen hospitality infrastructure around key airports while supporting the wider development of airport-linked urban destinations.
