Italian luxury sports carmaker Ferrari is preparing to increase supplies to India as demand for its supercars rises. The company is willing to allocate more vehicles to the Indian market based on demand, while expectations of lower import duties under the India-European Union free trade agreement (FTA) are generating additional interest among prospective buyers.

Ferrari registrations in India increased from 35 units in 2024 to 45 units in 2025, a rise of 28.6%, according to Vahan data. Between January and September 2026, registrations reached another 45 units, matching the total recorded for the whole of 2025 in just nine months.
Francesco Bianchi, Ferrari’s President for the Far and Middle East, said the company would increase allocations if demand continued to grow. However, Ferrari has not disclosed the additional number of vehicles it may supply or provided a specific timeline for the increase.
India-EU Trade Deal Drives Buyer Interest
The prospect of lower import duties under the India-EU FTA is already influencing customer enquiries, according to Ferrari. Prospective buyers are anticipating that eligible European luxury cars could become relatively more affordable once the agreement takes effect.
India and the European Union concluded negotiations on the FTA on January 27, 2026. The agreement is expected to reduce customs duties on eligible EU-origin cars imported as completely built units within specified annual quotas. However, the agreement has not yet taken effect, and the actual impact on Ferrari prices will depend on the final tariff provisions and the company’s pricing decisions.
For eligible petrol, diesel and non-plug-in hybrid cars valued above €15,000, the proposed framework provides for an annual import quota that will increase over time. Duties within the quota are scheduled to decline gradually, reaching 10% by the fifth year. Electric cars and plug-in hybrids have a separate concession schedule.
Ferrari to Expand Dealership Network
Ferrari currently operates showrooms and service facilities in New Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru. The company plans to expand its presence to Ahmedabad and Chennai, potentially by the end of 2026. It is expected to work with local partners to establish the new facilities.
The expansion is part of Ferrari’s strategy to strengthen its direct presence in India and build relationships with customers. The company has also restructured its regional operations to give India greater focus, with a dedicated executive responsible for sales and marketing in the country.
Prospective customers have been enquiring about models including the Ferrari 12Cilindri, Purosangue and Amalfi. The company is also investing in brand experiences and customer engagement to build awareness among Indian luxury-car buyers.
Luxury Car Market Offers Room for Growth
Ferrari’s plans come as the Indian market for high-performance luxury cars attracts greater attention from international manufacturers. Rising wealth and growing interest in premium automotive experiences are creating opportunities, although the segment remains relatively small compared with the broader passenger vehicle market.
Ferrari follows a demand-driven allocation strategy while maintaining the exclusivity of its vehicles. Globally, the company delivered 13,640 cars in 2025, down 0.8% from 13,752 units in 2024.
The combination of rising Indian registrations, planned dealership expansion and anticipated trade-related tariff changes could support Ferrari’s growth in the country. However, any increase in supplies and changes in vehicle prices will depend on actual demand, production allocations and the implementation of the India-EU trade agreement.
