Jio Platforms’ ₹30,213 crore initial public offering (IPO) has attracted strong investor interest, with the issue subscribed 1.68 times within four hours of opening on October 21, 2026. By 1 pm, the IPO had received 20,73,475 applications, making it one of the most closely watched public offerings in India.

The employee quota was fully subscribed, while the portion reserved for eligible Reliance Industries shareholders was subscribed 92%. Institutional investors also showed strong demand, with the Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIB) category subscribed 4.86 times. The retail investor portion was subscribed 0.51 times by 1 pm.
The IPO will remain open for subscription until October 23, 2026. The ₹30,213 crore issue is set to become India’s largest IPO, surpassing Hyundai Motor India’s ₹27,870 crore offering in 2024.
Shareholder and Employee Reservations
Eligible Reliance Industries shareholders have a reserved portion worth up to ₹2,500 crore in the Jio Platforms IPO. Employees have a separate reservation of up to ₹500 crore.
Eligible Reliance shareholders can apply under both the retail investor and shareholder categories, subject to the applicable eligibility and application rules. This gives qualifying investors access to two separate categories in the allotment process.
Institutional Demand Drives Subscription
The QIB category’s 4.86-times subscription indicates strong demand from institutional investors during the initial hours of bidding. Retail participation remained below full subscription at 0.51 times by 1 pm, while the employee category had already been fully subscribed.
Subscription figures may change as investors continue to place bids before the issue closes on October 23. Final demand across investor categories will be clearer after the subscription window ends.
