ICICI Life Insurance plans to recruit 20,000 women advisors across India by the end of FY2027 under its Narishakti initiative. Announced during Navratri, the target coincides with the initiative’s second anniversary and aims to expand women’s participation in the insurance distribution network.

As of September 30, 2026, the insurer had more than 78,000 women advisors. They accounted for around 32% of its total advisor base but contributed approximately 45% of its agency business. In Bengaluru, Kerala and Mumbai, women advisors contributed more than half of the agency business, according to the company.
Narishakti Supports Flexible Careers
Launched in 2024, Narishakti aims to help women build careers as financial advisors through training, professional support and flexible working arrangements. The initiative is designed for women from varied backgrounds, including homemakers, salaried professionals and businesswomen, without requiring an upfront investment.
The company said 47% of its women advisors had been associated with the insurer for more than 10 years as of September 2026. More than 500 women advisors had also qualified for the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), an international association for high-performing insurance and financial services professionals.
Expanding Women’s Role in Insurance
Amish Banker, Chief Distribution Officer at ICICI Life Insurance, said the company aims to provide women advisors with the skills and support needed to expand their role in the sector.
The recruitment target also aligns with the broader goal of increasing insurance access across India. By expanding its women advisor network, ICICI Life intends to strengthen customer outreach while creating more opportunities for women to pursue careers in financial planning and insurance services.
