LG Electronics India is set to begin production at its new ₹5,000 crore manufacturing plant in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, by December 2026.
The facility will initially manufacture air conditioners, followed by AC compressors, refrigerators and washing machines.
₹5,000 Crore Sri City Plant
The 247-acre facility will be LG Electronics’ third manufacturing plant in India, after its existing facilities in Greater Noida and Pune.
LG plans to invest around $600 million, or ₹5,000 crore, in the Sri City plant over four years. Construction of the facility started in May 2025.
The plant is expected to create around 1,495 direct jobs and support the growth of an ancillary manufacturing ecosystem around the facility.
Manufacturing Capacity to Nearly Double
The Sri City plant is expected to nearly double LG Electronics India’s manufacturing capacity.
The company currently has a production capacity of around 14.5 million units. Additional capacity will be added in phases over the next three financial years, with the project targeted for completion by FY30.
Once fully operational, the plant is expected to take LG India’s manufacturing capacity to around 29 million units.
Focus on Southern India
LG said the new plant will help meet growing demand in southern India, which accounts for around 38% of the company’s business in the country.
Locating production closer to major southern markets is also expected to reduce logistics costs and improve delivery times.
The facility will manufacture air conditioners, AC compressors, refrigerators and washing machines. LG also plans to produce compressors in-house, an area where the company is among the few manufacturers in India with its own production capabilities.
LG Expands Exports From India
LG Electronics is also increasing exports from its Indian operations.
The company currently exports products from India to around 66 countries, up from 47 countries when it went public last year.
LG Electronics India is set to complete one year as a listed company on Indian stock exchanges in October 2026. The company made its debut on the BSE and NSE on October 14, 2025, after raising ₹11,607 crore through its initial public offering.
The Sri City facility is expected to further strengthen LG’s manufacturing and export operations in India as the company expands its production capacity.
