Synergy Marine Group and Cochin Shipyard Ltd have signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly pursue shipbuilding, ship repair and vessel conversion projects in India.
The partnership combines Synergy Marine’s expertise in vessel engineering, owners’ representation, newbuilding and conversion project management with Cochin Shipyard’s shipbuilding and repair capabilities.
The MoU also covers joint business development in module fabrication and oil and gas projects. Synergy will provide technical and strategic advisory support for CSL’s newbuilding activities, including project planning, execution and quality assurance.
The companies said potential projects will be evaluated based on customer requirements and the suitability of CSL’s facilities. The agreement was signed by Synergy Marine co-CEO Ajay Chaudhry and CSL director (Technical) Rajesh Gopalakrishnan.
The collaboration comes as India seeks to expand its shipbuilding, ship repair and broader maritime capabilities, with CSL linking the partnership to the country’s Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision 2047.
