Tamil Nadu has secured investment commitments worth around ₹12,300 crore during Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay’s official UK visit, with the proposed projects expected to generate more than 9,400 high-value jobs across the state.

The largest commitment comes from Samvardhana Motherson International, which plans to invest around ₹11,000 crore over the next five years. The company will develop integrated design, engineering, manufacturing, assembly and logistics facilities across strategic locations in Tamil Nadu, creating nearly 7,000 jobs.
Ernst & Young has committed ₹1,000 crore to establish a Global Capability Centre in Tamil Nadu, expected to create more than 2,000 high-value corporate jobs. Swedish technology company Sigma Technology Group is also expanding its digital services and engineering operations in the state.
UK-based Wilson Power Solutions has signed an MoU for a ₹300-crore manufacturing unit in Tiruvallur district, which is expected to create around 400 jobs.
The investment push is aimed at strengthening Tamil Nadu’s position as a major hub for advanced manufacturing, technology and global capability centres, while creating new employment opportunities and deeper integration with global supply chains.
