Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer is looking to expand its manufacturing footprint in India as the company seeks to deepen local sourcing and build a stronger aerospace supply chain in the country.

The move marks a shift from primarily supplying aircraft to India towards establishing a larger manufacturing and industrial presence. Embraer is exploring partnerships with Indian companies to integrate more local suppliers into its global aerospace supply chain.
The company already has plans with Adani Defence & Aerospace to establish an aircraft production ecosystem in India, including a proposed final assembly line for the E-175 regional jet. The partnership is expected to support a phased increase in localisation.
Greater local sourcing could create opportunities for Indian companies involved in aerospace components, engineering, manufacturing and specialised systems. It could also help India strengthen its position as an aircraft manufacturing and supply-chain hub.
The expansion comes as India pushes for greater domestic manufacturing in aerospace and aviation, with global aircraft makers increasingly looking at the country as both a major aviation market and a potential production base.
