India is maintaining continuous contact with both Russia and Ukraine as New Delhi explores ways to help end the ongoing conflict, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar said.
Speaking in Warsaw after his visit to Kyiv, Jaishankar said India is looking at ideas and suggestions that could help mitigate or resolve the conflict. He reiterated that dialogue and diplomacy remain essential to finding a solution.
Jaishankar also said India is ready to assist in any manner that could contribute to peace between the two countries.
During his Ukraine visit, Jaishankar met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha. Discussions covered the conflict as well as strengthening bilateral ties.
India’s approach continues to focus on encouraging dialogue while maintaining relationships with both Moscow and Kyiv. Jaishankar also stressed that the conflict cannot be resolved simply through trade-related decisions, underscoring the need for a diplomatic solution.
The outreach comes amid renewed international diplomatic efforts to find a pathway towards ending the Russia-Ukraine war.
