Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) is set to launch a dedicated Empty Container Yard (ECY) at Mundra Port in Gujarat.
The new facility will provide end-to-end services for empty containers, including storage, maintenance, inspection and movement. It will also include integrated warehousing capabilities.
The initiative is aimed at improving container logistics and reducing operational bottlenecks by bringing empty-container activities within the Mundra Port SEZ.
The facility will enable closer coordination between Customs authorities, shipping lines, terminal operators and transporters, supporting faster and more efficient container movement.
Mundra Port is a major gateway for India’s container trade and serves cargo markets across the northern and north-western regions. APSEZ says the new facility is aligned with efforts to build more efficient, technology-enabled logistics infrastructure and improve ease of doing business.
The dedicated ECY is expected to strengthen Mundra’s role as an integrated logistics hub and improve efficiency across the export-import supply chain.
