Andhra Pradesh is planning an ambitious push to build a comprehensive rare earth manufacturing ecosystem, targeting ₹50,000 crore in investments over the next decade.

The state aims to leverage its coastal mineral resources to develop an integrated value chain covering mineral extraction, processing, refining and advanced manufacturing.
The initiative is expected to support domestic production of rare earth oxides, permanent magnets and advanced materials, while reducing India’s dependence on imports. These materials are critical for sectors including aerospace, defence, electronics, renewable energy and electric mobility.
The state expects the initiative to generate around 40,000 jobs over the next decade. A proposed AP Titanium and Strategic Materials Mission will provide policy support and facilitate technology development.
The move could strengthen India’s domestic supply chain for strategic minerals and position Andhra Pradesh as a major hub for rare earth manufacturing.
