India is deepening strategic and defence ties with Greece and Cyprus, expanding its footprint in the Eastern Mediterranean.
India and Greece have strengthened defence-industrial cooperation, while India and Cyprus have established a 2026–2031 defence cooperation roadmap covering defence industries, cybersecurity and emerging technologies.
The growing partnerships have attracted attention in Turkey, particularly amid reports of potential Greek and Cypriot interest in Indian-made systems such as BrahMos missiles and drones. However, there is no official confirmation that either country has finalised purchases of these systems.
For India, stronger ties with Greece and Cyprus could open new defence export opportunities while expanding cooperation in maritime security, technology and connectivity.
The developments highlight India’s growing defence diplomacy beyond the Indo-Pacific and its expanding role in international defence markets.
