Before becoming one of India’s most influential political leaders, Amit Shah pursued science. He completed his schooling in Mehsana, Gujarat, and later earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Biochemistry from CU Shah Science College, affiliated with Gujarat University.

During his college years in Ahmedabad, Shah became associated with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), marking the beginning of his political journey. After graduation, he briefly worked in his family’s PVC pipe business and as a stockbroker before entering full-time politics.
From a science graduate to serving as India’s Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah’s career reflects a transition from academia to public life, with decades of political and organisational experience shaping his rise in national politics.
