Ashok Leyland has announced plans to invest around ₹1,000 crore during FY27 to strengthen its presence in next-generation mobility. The investment will focus on expanding the company’s capabilities in electric vehicles (EVs), battery technology and alternate fuel solutions, as commercial vehicle manufacturers accelerate their transition towards cleaner transportation.

The company said the planned investment will support product development, technology upgrades and manufacturing capabilities across its green mobility portfolio. Ashok Leyland is also looking to enhance its offerings in LNG, CNG, hydrogen and other alternative fuel technologies, alongside expanding its electric commercial vehicle business.
The investment aligns with Ashok Leyland’s long-term strategy to meet evolving customer demand and upcoming emission norms while supporting India’s clean mobility goals. With growing adoption of sustainable transport solutions, the company aims to strengthen its leadership in the commercial vehicle segment through innovation and advanced mobility technologies.
