Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured a major engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract from Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) for developing and upgrading oil export facilities in Kuwait.
The company announced that its Energy Hydrocarbon business received the order through its onshore division. L&T classifies projects valued between ₹5,000 crore and ₹10,000 crore as major orders.
The project focuses on Kuwait’s Jurassic Light Oil (JLO) export facilities and includes improvements to the country’s existing crude oil export infrastructure.
As part of the contract, L&T will construct six new crude oil storage tanks, each with an operating capacity of 618,000 barrels. The project also includes the development of supporting facilities required for smooth operations.
In addition, L&T will install new pipelines and upgrade Kuwait’s crude oil loading and export network. These improvements are expected to help manage increased oil production and improve the overall efficiency of crude handling operations.
The company said the project will play an important role in strengthening Kuwait’s energy infrastructure. L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Onshore Senior Vice President and Head E S Sathyanarayanan said the company is honoured to receive the project from Kuwait Oil Company and will support Kuwait’s energy goals through efficient and reliable project execution.
The latest order further strengthens L&T’s presence in the Middle East’s energy sector, where the company has been involved in several large-scale oil and gas infrastructure projects.
