Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has praised India’s support for Israel, saying no other country shows similar levels of public backing. He described India as a key partner in Israel’s global engagement strategy and called the relationship between the two nations unique.

Speaking at a conference in the West Bank, Netanyahu said Israel faces criticism in many parts of the world but not in India. He highlighted what he described as exceptionally strong public sentiment from Indians toward Israel, adding that India appears to have some of the largest global support for Israel on social platforms.
His remarks come amid growing diplomatic engagement between the two countries, which have significantly expanded cooperation in recent years.
Earlier in February 2026, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Jerusalem, where both countries upgraded their ties to a Special Strategic Partnership focused on peace, innovation, and prosperity. The visit marked a major step in strengthening bilateral relations.
During the engagement, India and Israel agreed to deepen collaboration across multiple sectors, including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, semiconductors, biotechnology, agriculture, defence, water management, fintech, and space technology.
Both sides also signed agreements to strengthen cooperation in education, fisheries, financial technology, and trade, reinforcing the broad scope of the partnership.
Defence cooperation was another key focus, building on a Memorandum of Understanding signed in November 2025 to expand strategic collaboration.
In addition, the two countries discussed advancing joint work in emerging technologies under the guidance of their National Security Advisors, aiming to institutionalise long-term innovation partnerships.
They also explored linking India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI) with Israel’s fast payment systems to enable smoother cross-border digital transactions.
