Dr Nikita Hari, Head of the Teaching, Research Design and Support Group, has been recognised with two major academic honours: the inaugural Google Higher Education Faculty AI Fellowship and a Senior Fellowship from Advance HE.

The awards highlight Nikita’s contributions to engineering education, particularly in teaching innovation, curriculum design, and the responsible use of artificial intelligence in higher education.
Her work has focused on improving learning methods and integrating AI tools into teaching in a way that is ethical, inclusive, and effective. The recognition also reflects her broader impact across the University of Oxford and the global academic community, where she has contributed to connecting teaching practice, policy, and research-driven education reform.
Nikita said she was pleased to receive both fellowships, noting that they represent a shared effort to build inclusive and forward-looking engineering education while responsibly adopting AI in learning environments. She also credited her colleagues, students, and collaborators for supporting this work.
The Google Faculty AI Fellowship supports educators worldwide who are exploring AI in teaching and learning. Advance HE’s Senior Fellowship is awarded to experienced academics who demonstrate strong and sustained leadership in education.
Her recognition also reflects the department’s continued focus on teaching excellence, innovation, and improving the student learning experience.
