Shrikant Jichkar is widely regarded as one of the most educated individuals in India, holding an extraordinary 20 university degrees across diverse disciplines.

Born in Maharashtra in 1954, Jichkar began his academic journey in medicine, completing MBBS and MD, before expanding into law (LLB, LLM), business administration (MBA, DBM), journalism, and Sanskrit studies. He also earned multiple MA degrees in subjects ranging from economics and political science to psychology and history.
Between 1973 and 1990, he appeared for 42 university examinations, often earning top ranks and gold medals, showcasing an unmatched passion for knowledge.
Beyond academics, Jichkar had a distinguished career in public service. He cleared the UPSC exam, joining the Indian Police Service (IPS) and later the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), before resigning to enter politics.
At just 26, he became the youngest MLA in India, later serving as a minister handling multiple portfolios and as a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha.
Apart from politics, he contributed to education by founding institutions and supporting social initiatives for underprivileged children.
His remarkable journey ended tragically in 2004 in a road accident at the age of 49.
