The Kerala State Election Department has released the final Special Summary Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll ahead of upcoming elections, confirming a total of 2.69 crore eligible voters in the state. The updated list reflects deletions made to remove duplicate entries, non-existent and ineligible names to enhance the accuracy and credibility of the voter database.

Authorities undertook rigorous verification and field checks as part of the revision process, ensuring compliance with legal norms and reducing the chances of electoral fraud. The final list now captures all eligible citizens of voting age, including newly registered first-time voters.

Officials said that the deletion drive was essential to purge obsolete and invalid entries, particularly names associated with migration, deaths or relocation outside Kerala. The updated electoral roll strengthens the democratic process by ensuring that only eligible voters remain on the list.

With the final SIR completed, preparations are now underway across constituencies for the next electoral cycle. Voters are encouraged to verify their names and details in the list to avoid discrepancies on polling day.
