Vietnamese electric vehicle maker VinFast has completed its first full month of operations in India, selling 131 cars in October. The company had sold six units in September, according to data from the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations.
VinFast currently offers two electric SUVs in India, the VF6 and the VF7. The VF6 starts at Rs 16.49 lakh ex showroom, while the VF7 begins at Rs 20.89 lakh. The company has already opened 24 dealerships across major cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Kolkata. It plans to increase this number to 35 by the end of 2025.

VinFast VF6
The VF6 is available in three variants called Earth, Wind and Wind Infinity. All use a 59.6 kilowatt hour battery that offers a certified range of up to 468 kilometres. Fast charging from 10 percent to 70 percent takes about 25 minutes.
The Earth variant produces 130 kilowatts of power and 250 newton metres of torque. The Wind variant delivers 150 kilowatts and 310 newton metres and can go from zero to 100 kilometres per hour in 8.9 seconds. The Wind Infinity adds a panoramic glass roof. All variants include a 12.9 inch infotainment display, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control and advanced safety systems with seven airbags, a 360 degree camera and Level 2 driver assistance.
VinFast VF7
The larger VF7 comes in five variants named Earth, Wind, Wind Infinity, Sky and Sky Infinity. It is offered with two battery options of 59.6 kilowatt hours and 70.8 kilowatt hours, with both front and all wheel drive setups. Depending on the variant, the range varies from 438 to 532 kilometres.
The top version, Sky, uses a dual motor all wheel drive system that produces 260 kilowatts and 500 newton metres of torque and can accelerate from zero to 100 kilometres per hour in 5.8 seconds. Standard equipment across all VF7 versions includes a 12.9 inch touchscreen, dual zone climate control, 19 inch alloy wheels, adaptive cruise control and a full set of safety and driver assistance features.
VinFast’s entry into India marks an important step in its global expansion. The company is targeting the growing electric vehicle market with competitive pricing, strong feature lists and a rapidly expanding dealership network.
