The much-awaited return of the Tata Sierra is finally confirmed, the new model will debut on November 25, 2025, marking the comeback of one of India’s most beloved SUVs from the 1990s.
This time around, the Sierra will be offered with a full range of power‐options, petrol, diesel and electric, making it versatile and positioned to appeal to a wide audience. The initial offering will focus on the ICE (internal combustion) version, with the EV variant arriving shortly afterward.

Expect pricing to start from around ₹11 lakh (ex-showroom) and extend up to mid-₹20 lakhs, putting it neatly between Tata’s Curvv and Harrier in the brand’s line-up.
Design highlights draw on the iconic original Sierra, features may include the classic “Alpine window” styling, boxy wheel arches and distinctive visual signature, now updated with modern touches like LED lighting, connected DRLs and 19-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the car is expected to come loaded with tech. A triple-screen layout (for driver, infotainment and passenger), a panoramic glass roof, ventilated seats, wireless phone charger and intelligent safety kit (6+ airbags, Level-2 ADAS, 360-degree camera) are likely on the spec list.
Powertrain options may include Tata’s new 1.5-litre TGDi turbo-petrol delivering 170 PS and 280 Nm torque, a 1.5-litre diesel being carried over from the Curvv family, and future EV versions expected to feature dual-motor technology and range ~500 km.
In terms of positioning, Tata is aiming this SUV at the 4.2 — 4.4 metre segment, set to compete with the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara and Honda Elevate.
With this return, Tata Motors not only revives a nostalgic nameplate but also attempts to redefine its mid-SUV strategy by offering heritage, modern tech and multi-powertrain choices, a bold move in the highly competitive SUV market.
