Adani Enterprises, through its joint venture AdaniConneX, has partnered with Google to develop India’s largest AI data centre campus, along with new green energy infrastructure, in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
The Google AI hub represents an investment of approximately USD 15 billion over five years (2026–2030). The project will feature gigawatt-scale data centre operations, supported by a robust subsea cable network and clean energy, to handle India’s most demanding AI workloads. The initiative will be executed in collaboration with ecosystem partners, including AdaniConneX and Airtel.
The hub will provide purpose-built AI data centre infrastructure, significantly boosting compute capacity and pioneering a generational leap in India’s AI capabilities.
Sustainability is a core component of the project. Both companies will co-invest in new transmission lines, clean energy generation, and innovative energy storage systems in Andhra Pradesh. This will not only power the data centre but also strengthen the resilience and capacity of India’s electricity grid.
Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, said, “This partnership goes beyond infrastructure—it is an investment in the soul of a rising nation. Visakhapatnam is set to become a global technology hub, and we are proud to play a pivotal role in this transformative journey.”
Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud, added, “The Google AI hub will provide the foundation to unlock India’s potential in the AI age, enabling businesses, researchers, and creators to build and scale with AI. Partnering with Adani brings our resources closer to communities and customers, offering performance, security, and scalability for global innovation.”The AI hub and connectivity gateway are expected to drive digital inclusivity and create tens of thousands of jobs across technology, construction, and clean energy sectors, fostering economic growth in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, and across India.
