Brazilian football superstar Neymar has reportedly been left a staggering £846 million (around Rs 10,077 crore) by a recently deceased Brazilian billionaire. Despite the enormous sum, the billionaire never personally met Neymar.
Reason Behind the Bequest
According to local media, the billionaire, who had no spouse or children, admired Neymar for his close relationship with his father. The gesture reportedly reflected the billionaire’s personal values and family bonds.

Legal Formalities
The will was formalized in Porto Alegre on June 12 and witnessed by two individuals. Neymar can only claim the inheritance once it is officially acknowledged and cleared by the Brazilian courts.
Neymar’s Response
As of now, Neymar has not publicly commented on the inheritance.
Current Football Status
Brazil has already secured qualification for the 2026 World Cup. Neymar, along with Vinícius Júnior and Rodrygo, was left out of the latest squad due to a recent muscle injury suffered during training, according to Santos Club.
Coach Carlo Ancelotti stated regarding Neymar’s absence, “We don’t need to test him.” Brazil will face Chile at the Maracanã in Rio de Janeiro, followed by an away match against Bolivia, which is competing for a playoff spot.
