Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL), the FMCG arm of Reliance Industries, has expanded its Independence biscuit portfolio with nine new variants comprising 28 stock-keeping units (SKUs). The expanded range was launched across Tamil Nadu on November 2, 2026, as the company looks to strengthen its presence in the country’s competitive packaged foods market.

The new portfolio covers everyday and indulgent consumption categories, with prices starting at ₹5. Trial packs are priced at ₹5, sharing packs at ₹10, while larger home packs range between ₹40 and ₹125. The company plans to gradually introduce the products in other markets.
Nine Variants Across Different Categories
The expanded portfolio includes Independence Power Up, Independence Butter Bliss, Independence Milky Power, Independence Marie Prime, Independence Coco Vanilla and Chocolate, Independence CremYum Orange, Independence CremYum Choco, Independence Coco Bourbon and Independence Glucose Boost.
Independence Power Up and Independence Milky Power lead the new range. Power Up combines milk, glucose and protein in a single biscuit, offering a differentiated product in the everyday biscuit category.
RCPL Director T Krishnakumar said Tamil Nadu is an important market for the company’s biscuit business. He added that the expanded portfolio aims to address changing consumer preferences while increasing the company’s scale and reach.
Ajith Kumar Racing Association to Support Launch
RCPL is supporting the launch of Independence Power Up through its brand association with Ajith Kumar Racing. The company expects the partnership to strengthen product visibility and consumer awareness in Tamil Nadu.
The expanded range will be distributed through general trade outlets, national and regional modern trade stores, e-commerce platforms, Reliance Retail and wholesale channels. Increased production capacity in the state is expected to support the company’s expansion and improve product availability.
Reliance Strengthens Its Biscuit Business
RCPL is pursuing a two-pronged strategy in the biscuits segment. Its Independence brand is focused on scaling up through a wider range of everyday and indulgent products, while Maliban, its joint venture partner and a leading Sri Lankan biscuit manufacturer, will focus on differentiated premium offerings.
The strategy aims to serve different consumer preferences and consumption occasions through accessible pricing, product variety and wider distribution. The latest launch marks another step in Reliance Consumer Products’ efforts to expand its presence in India’s FMCG and packaged foods markets.
