Hyderabad International Airport has introduced a real-time Lost and Found Tracking and Communication Platform to simplify the process of recovering misplaced belongings. Launched by GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd. (GHIAL), the digital service allows passengers to submit lost-item requests, monitor their status and receive updates through a single online platform.

The initiative is the first such platform across GMR airports and is aimed at improving passenger convenience through technology-driven services.
How the Digital Platform Works
Passengers can access the service through the official Hyderabad Airport Lost and Found portal. They can select the “Raise a Request” option, enter their contact details and choose the category of the missing item.
Users must provide information about where and when the item was lost, along with a description. They can also upload a photograph to help the airport team identify the belonging.
After submitting the request, passengers receive a unique reference ID by email. This ID can be used to track the request online and check its progress. The platform also enables secure communication with the Lost and Found team when additional information or verification is required.
Updates Throughout the Recovery Process
The system provides updates as the airport team works to identify, verify and return the missing item. By bringing these steps together digitally, the platform aims to give passengers greater visibility into the recovery process and reduce uncertainty while they wait for an update.
The initiative also reflects the airport’s focus on improving customer service through digital transformation and more streamlined operations.
A Technology-Led Passenger Experience
GMR Hyderabad International Airport CEO Kadhir Kadhiravan said the platform was introduced to make lost-item recovery more transparent and convenient. The system is intended to improve responsiveness and provide passengers with timely information through a single digital interface.
The launch adds another digital service to Hyderabad Airport’s passenger support system. By enabling online reporting and real-time request tracking, the airport aims to make it easier for travellers to follow up on lost belongings without relying solely on manual communication.
Passengers who misplace items at the airport can use the portal to register a request and track its progress. Those who leave belongings aboard an aircraft should contact the respective airline, as advised by the airport.
