Tejas Parthasarathi Sudarshan, founder of Chennai-based applied artificial intelligence startup Winsen Labs, had around 90 seconds to present two AI-driven ideas to Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a Chennai Metro journey on October 11, 2026. His proposals focused on improving practical AI education and simplifying access to government services.

Sudarshan was among 17 startup founders selected for an interaction with the Prime Minister during his visit to Chennai. The opportunity came as Modi travelled on the Metro alongside Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay. Sudarshan later shared details of the encounter in a LinkedIn post.
Two AI Ideas for India
Sudarshan’s first proposal focused on helping students develop practical artificial intelligence skills. He suggested that government departments collaborate with universities to provide students with real-world problems and projects to solve. The approach could help students apply classroom knowledge to public-sector challenges while gaining experience in AI development and problem-solving.
His second idea involved creating a unified, AI-powered government service desk. Under the proposed system, citizens could submit a request and upload supporting documents once, instead of approaching multiple departments separately. An AI agent would track each request and route it to the relevant department for further action.
The proposal aims to simplify interactions between citizens and government offices by bringing multiple services into a single interface. These were ideas presented during the interaction and have not been announced as adopted government initiatives.
Who Is Tejas Sudarshan?
Sudarshan leads Winsen Labs, an applied AI venture focused on using artificial intelligence to address practical challenges across sectors such as financial services, manufacturing, logistics and healthcare. Before starting Winsen Labs, he worked at KPMG India and founded Fanpit, an events and community platform. He studied commerce at the University of Madras and pursued the Chartered Accountancy qualification through the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
His interest in using technology to improve education dates back to his school years. During a School Pupil Leader election in 2017, he proposed introducing Google Classroom to improve learning. Nearly nine years later, he presented ideas on applying AI to education and public services to the Prime Minister.
AI and India’s Startup Ecosystem
The interaction highlighted how startup founders are exploring applications of AI beyond conventional software products. Sudarshan’s proposals linked education, public administration and technology, with an emphasis on solving practical problems.
The meeting also brought together founders working in areas including airport logistics, rocket propulsion and chip design. Such interactions provide entrepreneurs with an opportunity to present ideas to policymakers, although implementation would depend on further evaluation, institutional collaboration and government decisions.
Sudarshan’s 90-second pitch placed two proposals at the centre of the discussion: preparing students to use AI in real-world settings and using AI agents to make government services easier to access. Both ideas reflect a broader interest in applying artificial intelligence to everyday challenges in India.
