L&T Technology Services (LTTS), an engineering research and development services company, has launched its first AI-Native Engineering Intelligence (EI) Lab for digital manufacturing in India. The facility, inaugurated in Bengaluru on October 12, 2026, will demonstrate how artificial intelligence, digital twins and autonomous systems can work together across manufacturing operations.

Built using technologies from NVIDIA and Siemens, the lab aims to demonstrate how AI can support industrial operations, improve productivity and enable more autonomous manufacturing processes. Its focus areas include factory operations, warehouses, distribution networks and supply chains, where AI-powered systems can help automate tasks and improve operational efficiency.
The facility brings together several capabilities, including manufacturing intelligence, AI-native factories and operations AI. Demonstrations will showcase intelligent machines, robots, collaborative robots, drones and digital twins working together to execute manufacturing tasks with reduced human intervention.
The lab will also feature an AI-powered Manufacturing Command Centre, supply chain control tower, production planning capabilities and multi-plant benchmarking. These systems are designed to help businesses monitor operations, analyse manufacturing data and make more informed decisions.
Another key focus is Physical AI, which connects artificial intelligence with machines and real-world environments. The lab will use simulation and digital twin technologies to help manufacturers test and validate industrial processes before implementing them in physical settings. It will also demonstrate systems designed to verify AI-generated actions before they reach machines, supporting safer and more controlled automation.
LTTS said the initiative extends its Engineering Intelligence capabilities from digital engineering into the manufacturing shop floor. The company aims to help customers explore AI-driven approaches to factory design, production, quality control, maintenance and sustainability.
The company is also planning to establish a similar facility in the United States by the end of financial year 2027, expanding its efforts to demonstrate AI-led manufacturing solutions to global customers.
The launch comes as manufacturers increasingly explore AI, digital twins and autonomous systems to improve productivity and modernise industrial operations. Through the new lab, LTTS aims to demonstrate how these technologies can be integrated into practical manufacturing environments.
