Reliance Jio has showcased a new range of AI-powered wearables at India Mobile Congress 2026, including camera glasses, audio glasses and earphones. The devices are designed to bring artificial intelligence into everyday activities through voice commands, language support and hands-free digital services.

The showcased features include QR-based UPI payments, an AI voice assistant, live translation across Indian languages, AI-powered note-taking and live cricket commentary. The announcement highlights Jio’s push to make AI accessible beyond smartphones and traditional screens.
UPI Payments Through Smart Glasses
One of the key features is Scan & Pay. Users can look at a UPI QR code through the camera glasses and give a voice command to initiate a payment. After the required confirmation, the transaction can be completed without taking out a smartphone.
The feature uses UPI Circle, which allows authorised users to make payments from a primary user’s UPI account under defined limits. The showcased transaction limit is ₹5,000 per payment, with a monthly limit of ₹15,000. These limits are governed by UPI Circle rules rather than being exclusive to Jio.
The feature is aimed at simplifying routine payments at shops and other locations by reducing the steps involved in opening a payment application and scanning a QR code on a phone.
Live Translation Across Indian Languages
Jio’s AI wearables also feature live translation to help people communicate across language barriers. The technology is designed to translate conversations between people speaking different Indian languages, potentially supporting communication in workplaces, public spaces and travel settings.
An AI voice assistant enables users to interact with digital services through spoken commands, while AI note-taking is intended to capture important points from meetings and conversations.
Live Cricket Commentary on the Move
The devices also feature live cricket commentary, allowing users to follow match updates while carrying out other activities. The addition broadens the intended uses of the wearables beyond productivity and payments to entertainment.
Jio Pushes AI Beyond Smartphones
Jio’s showcase reflects a broader effort to integrate AI into wearable devices and everyday digital experiences. By combining voice interactions, Indian-language support, payments and translation, the company is exploring ways to make digital services more convenient and accessible.
Smart glasses are an established category in wearable technology, but the inclusion of UPI payments and features tailored to Indian users could expand their potential everyday applications. Commercial availability, pricing and the rollout timeline for the showcased products were not specified in the information provided.
