Reliance Industries Executive Director Anant Ambani has announced plans to invest ₹1 lakh crore in Andhra Pradesh to set up compressed biogas (CBG) plants, with the projects expected to create more than 3 lakh jobs and generate nearly ₹60,000 crore in revenue for the state over the coming decades. Ambani made the announcement during the foundation stone-laying ceremony for the Rayalaseema Horticulture Hub and Indian School of Agriculture in Madanapalle.

The investment will support Reliance’s clean-energy plans in the state, including CBG plants that can use agricultural residue, animal waste and other organic material to produce renewable fuel. Reliance is also pursuing opportunities in advanced manufacturing and clean-energy projects in the Rayalaseema region.
The proposed Indian School of Agriculture will combine artificial intelligence and modern technology with traditional farming knowledge. Planned applications include pest prediction, drone-based crop monitoring, precision irrigation, robotics, cloud computing, greenhouse technology and market intelligence. Reliance’s Jio will also support farmer training through virtual classrooms and its Jio Krishi platform.
The Rayalaseema Horticulture Hub, backed by ₹40,000 crore, aims to expand horticulture cultivation, processing, marketing and exports across the region. The broader project is expected to strengthen agricultural infrastructure and create opportunities for farmers, rural youth and agri-tech businesses.
