V-Guard Industries Ltd, a leading consumer durables company, has appointed Mithun K. Chittilappilly as its new Chairman and Managing Director. His appointment will take effect from September 27.
Mithun has been serving as the company’s Managing Director since 2012. He will take over the new role following the completion of the tenure of V-Guard’s current Chairperson and Independent Director, Radha Unni.
V-Guard Grows 24 Times in Two Decades
Mithun joined V-Guard in 2006 as an Executive Director. At the time, the company had a turnover of around Rs 229 crore.
By financial year 2026, V-Guard’s turnover had grown nearly 24 times to Rs 5,966 crore.
Over the past two decades, Mithun has played an important role in V-Guard’s growth from a South India-focused electrical brand into a consumer durables company with a nationwide presence.
Focus on the Next Growth Phase
Mithun said he was proud to take on the role of Chairman and Managing Director at an important stage in V-Guard’s growth.
He said his immediate focus will be to build on the company’s strong foundation and prepare it for its next phase of growth as V-Guard moves towards its 50th anniversary.
He also highlighted the contribution of the company’s team in helping V-Guard grow from a regional brand into a nationwide business.
