Drydocks World, a DP World company, and Cochin Shipyard Limited have formed a 50:50 joint venture to operate and expand the International Ship Repair Facility (ISRF) in Kochi. The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit 2026 in New Delhi.
Under the partnership, both companies will invest ₹900 crore each. The joint venture will consolidate and expand the ISRF, adding capacity to service a wider range of Indian, regional and international vessels.
The partnership brings together Cochin Shipyard’s shipbuilding, repair and engineering capabilities with Drydocks World’s global expertise in high-end vessel repair, conversions and offshore engineering.
The expanded facility is expected to create opportunities across ship repair, engineering, fabrication and allied maritime services in Kerala. The move also strengthens Kochi’s position as a maritime services hub along major international shipping routes.
The joint venture follows an MoU signed by the two companies during India Maritime Week 2025 and marks a major expansion of their collaboration in India’s ship repair sector.
