Xiaomi has launched a new Mijia triple-drum washing machine featuring a 14kg capacity and AI-powered controls. The appliance is designed to handle different types of laundry simultaneously, with its three drums able to operate independently.
The washing machine uses AI to create customised wash programmes based on user input. Users can reportedly describe their laundry requirements through voice or text, allowing the system to recommend suitable washing settings.
The triple-drum design is aimed at improving flexibility by allowing different loads to be washed separately within the same appliance. This could be useful for households handling different fabrics, colours or levels of soiling at the same time.
The new appliance adds another example of Xiaomi’s push to bring AI features into everyday home appliances. The company has increasingly integrated smart controls and connected features across its Mijia ecosystem, linking household devices with software-based automation and intelligent controls.
