US Consul General Mariana L. Neisuler visited Technopark in Thiruvananthapuram as part of her first visit to Kerala, with discussions focusing on the state’s technology ecosystem and opportunities for stronger Kerala-US cooperation.

During the visit, Kerala Electronics & IT Secretary Sambasiva Rao met Neisuler along with Technopark CEO Sandeep Kumar and Kerala Startup Mission CEO Anoop Ambika. Neisuler highlighted Kerala’s strengths in IT, logistics, maritime and energy sectors and called for clear plans to attract more US companies to the state.
The discussions also explored positioning Kerala as a knowledge-industry hub. Rao proposed joint Centres of Excellence between Kerala and US universities and sought greater US support for the state’s startup ecosystem.
With Kerala having around 10,000 startups, the state also plans to establish startup accelerators and invited US-based accelerators to set up centres in Kerala.
The US delegation later visited the FabLab at IIITM-K and robotics company Genrobotics. Representatives from Tata Elxsi, TCS, IBS Software, Equifax and GTech also participated in the discussions.
