Tata Electronics and ASML, the world’s leading semiconductor equipment manufacturer, are in discussions to explore manufacturing critical chip equipment components in India. The move aligns with India’s push to build a robust semiconductor ecosystem and reduce dependence on imports.

The proposed collaboration focuses on producing precision components used in ASML’s advanced chipmaking equipment. While the companies are yet to finalise specific products or timelines, the initiative could significantly boost India’s role in the global semiconductor supply chain.
The discussions complement Tata Electronics’ ongoing investments in semiconductor fabrication and electronics manufacturing. If realised, the partnership would strengthen domestic capabilities in high-value semiconductor equipment manufacturing, support the government’s semiconductor mission, and create opportunities for advanced manufacturing, skilled jobs and technology development in India.
