Kerala is aiming to position itself as a national hub for artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, with Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan inaugurating Naviq Technology, a new company launched by the IBS Software Group in Kochi.
Located at the IBS Tower in Infopark Phase I, Naviq Technology has been established to drive AI-led innovation and modernisation across the global travel industry.
The company will build on IBS Software’s more than two decades of experience in travel technology and operate independently from the group’s other subsidiaries. It will work with international airlines, airports, cruise lines, vacation providers and hospitality companies to accelerate AI adoption, modernise operations and create new revenue opportunities.
Naviq Technology has already established more than 16 offices worldwide and plans to create opportunities for AI researchers, data scientists and other technology professionals.
Speaking at the inauguration, Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan said AI is rapidly becoming an essential tool across sectors. He also highlighted Kerala’s efforts to prepare for the changing technology landscape, including the use of an AI-powered dashboard to monitor investment projects.
Industries and IT Minister P.K. Kunhalikutty said the state must evolve alongside rapid technological changes. As part of this vision, Kerala’s State IT Mission is being transformed into the Future Technology Mission.
IBS Software Founder and Executive Chairman V.K. Mathews said AI is set to become a major force driving the digital economy. He also stressed the need for continuous learning and adaptation as AI reshapes the job market.
With its focus on AI, travel technology and global collaboration, Naviq Technology’s Kochi launch adds further momentum to Kerala’s ambition to become a major destination for emerging technology innovation.
