BMW Group India has reported its highest-ever first-half sales, reflecting strong demand across its luxury vehicle portfolio. The company sold 9,075 cars between January and June 2026, registering a 17 per cent year-on-year increase.

Electric vehicles were the biggest growth driver during the period. BMW delivered 2,359 EVs in the first six months of the year, marking a 78 per cent rise compared to the same period last year. EVs accounted for 26 per cent of the company’s total sales, meaning one in every four BMW cars sold in India was electric. The company also retained its leadership in India’s luxury EV segment with a 69 per cent market share.
Demand remained strong for BMW’s long-wheelbase luxury models, with sales rising 24 per cent to 4,428 units. These models contributed 52 per cent of the company’s overall sales during the period.
BMW’s Sports Activity Vehicles (SAVs), which include its SUV lineup, also delivered impressive performance. Sales increased 35 per cent to 5,926 units, accounting for 65 per cent of total vehicle sales.
The company’s other brands also recorded healthy growth. MINI sold 504 cars during the first half of 2026, a 70 per cent increase, supported by demand for the new Countryman C and limited-edition models. BMW Motorrad delivered 2,327 motorcycles, with the first batch of the new F 450 GS selling out soon after deliveries began in late June.
BMW Group India launched 11 new products during the first half of the year and plans to introduce 14 more models before the end of 2026. The company is also expanding its dealership network through its Retail.NEXT initiative, which currently has 100 customer touchpoints across 40 cities, with 19 additional outlets planned this year.
