Born into a financially struggling family, Anand’s father worked as a tractor driver while he walked nearly six kilometres daily to attend school in rural India. Reports say he later dropped out of college before rebuilding his academic career by shifting from computer science to aeronautical engineering.
Dr. Anand eventually founded Space Zone India, which went on to develop reusable hybrid rocket projects and gain attention within India’s emerging private space-tech ecosystem.
According to reports, a US visa rejection during his early career became a turning point that pushed him toward deeper innovation and entrepreneurship in aerospace technology. Years later, he was selected for prestigious US Department of State programmes involving NASA-linked technical exposure and international aerospace collaboration.
His company’s RHUMI rocket missions and plans for future twin-launch projects have attracted growing attention from India’s aerospace and defence ecosystem.
