Lulu Group International has launched special cargo flight operations from Kochi to GCC countries to transport more than 200 tonnes of mangoes ahead of its annual Mango Festival in the Gulf region.

The special services began ahead of the festival, which starts on May 21 across Lulu stores in Gulf countries. Cargo aircraft operated by National Airways are being used to transport the mangoes from Kerala to expatriate markets across the GCC.
According to reports, around 100 tonnes of mangoes were shipped recently, while another 100 tonnes are expected to be transported through additional cargo services. This is apart from the regular daily shipments of fruits and vegetables already sent through passenger flights.
Lulu aims to ensure the availability of a wide variety of Kerala and Indian mangoes, including popular varieties such as Hima Pasand, Chakkara Gund, Mallika, Neelam, Malgova, and Priyoor. More than 40 varieties of mangoes from Kerala and other regions are being exported to Gulf markets.
The Mango Festival will reportedly showcase over 100 mango varieties from around the world, reflecting strong demand among expatriate communities for seasonal Indian fruits and regional flavours.
