Donald Trump has announced that China could purchase more than 200 Boeing aircraft, with the potential order eventually expanding to as many as 750 jets following his summit with Xi Jinping in Beijing.

The proposed agreement is being described as Boeing’s first major China aircraft deal in nearly a decade and could become one of the largest aviation orders in recent years if fully finalized. Reports suggest the package may include Boeing 737 and 777 aircraft powered by GE Aerospace engines.
Trump said China had already committed to purchasing at least 200 aircraft, while additional orders could follow depending on future negotiations and market conditions. Analysts estimate the initial order alone could be worth between $17 billion and $19 billion.
The announcement followed a high-profile Trump-Xi summit in Beijing focused on trade tensions, Taiwan, Iran, artificial intelligence, rare earth supplies, and broader economic cooperation. While both sides projected optimism, observers noted that several major geopolitical disagreements remain unresolved.
The summit also attracted global attention because top business leaders including Elon Musk, Tim Cook, and Jensen Huang were part of the broader US business delegation visiting China alongside Trump.
Industry experts say the potential Boeing order could help revive US-China commercial ties while giving Boeing a major boost in one of the world’s largest aviation markets, where Airbus has recently gained stronger dominance.
