Entrepreneur and content creator Ankur Warikoo has announced that he is closing his online courses business, even though it had generated over ₹100 crore in revenue and around ₹25 crore in profit over the past five years.

He shared the news through a video on X, saying the decision comes after scaling the platform to about 5 lakh students since its launch in 2020. In his post, he noted that while the business had grown significantly and remained profitable, continuing it “no longer made sense.”
Warikoo also mentioned that he would explain the full reasoning in a follow-up video scheduled for May 16 at 8:30 pm.
Social media reacts to surprise shutdown
The announcement quickly sparked reactions online, with many users questioning why a successful and profitable venture was being discontinued. Some even asked whether artificial intelligence had influenced the decision, to which Warikoo replied briefly: “huge.”
Others expressed curiosity about what he might build next, while some raised concerns about students currently enrolled in the courses and whether their access would continue.
Built during the digital learning boom
Warikoo launched his courses business in 2020 and built a strong presence in the education and self-improvement space through YouTube and social media. He now has millions of followers across platforms, making him one of India’s most prominent digital educators.
