US President Donald Trump has claimed that Iran has agreed to hand over its stockpile of enriched uranium, signalling that a potential deal between the two countries is “close.”
Speaking at the White House, Trump said Iran had agreed to return what he described as “nuclear dust,” referring to highly enriched uranium that could be used in weapons. He also asserted that Iran does not possess nuclear weapons and has agreed to that position.

The development comes amid ongoing negotiations following weeks of conflict between the US and Iran. Trump indicated that talks have been “very successful” and that both sides are moving towards a broader agreement aimed at reducing tensions.
However, the situation remains uncertain, as there has been no official confirmation from Iran on handing over uranium, with reports suggesting gaps still remain between the two sides on key issues.
If finalised, the deal could mark a significant step towards easing geopolitical tensions in the region and stabilising global energy routes, particularly the Strait of Hormuz, which remains critical for global oil supply.
