Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ), India’s largest integrated transport utility and leading port developer, has crossed a landmark 500 million tonnes (MMT) of cargo handled, marking a significant milestone in its journey.
The achievement highlights the company’s rapid expansion from a single port-led vision in 1998 to a vast network of 19 ports and terminals, making it a key player in India’s infrastructure and logistics growth.

Chairman Gautam Adani described ports as gateways to national competitiveness, emphasizing that the milestone reflects long-term confidence in India’s growth story and the strength of its logistics platform.
Over the years, APSEZ has built an extensive ecosystem spanning ports, rail, road transport, warehousing, and cargo logistics, enabling seamless “shore-to-door” connectivity across the country.
The company’s growth has accelerated significantly, taking 16 years to reach its first 100 MMT, while each subsequent milestone has been achieved at a faster pace, reflecting improved scale and efficiency.
With this achievement, APSEZ is now targeting its next big milestone of 1 billion tonnes of cargo handling by 2030, aiming to further strengthen India’s global trade competitiveness and infrastructure capabilities.
