Reliance Industries has signed a $3 billion long-term agreement with South Korea’s Samsung C&T to supply green ammonia over a period of 15 years, starting from the second half of FY2029.

The deal is among the largest global green ammonia offtake agreements, reflecting increasing demand for low-carbon fuels as countries aim to reduce emissions and transition to cleaner energy sources.

Green ammonia is produced using renewable energy, combining hydrogen generated from clean electricity with nitrogen, making it a key fuel for decarbonising industries and power generation.

The agreement is part of Reliance’s broader strategy to build a fully integrated new energy ecosystem, including solar manufacturing, energy storage, hydrogen production, and downstream green fuels.

This partnership is expected to strengthen India’s position as a global hub for green hydrogen and clean fuel exports, while supporting the country’s long-term sustainability goals.
